Our mission

Why JDOG Studios exists, and what we’re setting out to do for players.

Mission statement

At JDOG Studios, our mission is to create engaging and memorable gaming experiences that reduce barriers for disabled players and people with different accessibility needs.

We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to explore, compete, create and enjoy gaming, regardless of how they interact with technology.

What our mission commits us to

Inclusive experiences

We want people to feel that our games were made with them in mind. That includes disabled players, older players, players with temporary injuries, neurodivergent players and anyone whose circumstances make standard designs harder to use.

Inclusion isn’t a separate mode or a reduced version of the experience. Our aim is for more people to share in the same adventures, the same stories and the same sense of achievement.

Player choice

There is rarely one right way to play. Players differ in how they hold a controller, how they process information, how much challenge they enjoy and how long they can play at once.

So we intend to give players meaningful choices: how they control the game, how information reaches them and how the experience is paced. Good defaults matter, but control should rest with the player.

Accessibility-led design

Leading with accessibility means treating it as a design discipline from day one. It shapes how we prototype mechanics, design interfaces, deliver feedback and plan testing.

Designing this way often makes games better for everyone. Clearer interfaces, flexible controls and well-communicated feedback benefit players far beyond those who need them most.

What this means in practice

Our mission guides decisions at every stage. As the studio develops, we intend to:

  • Ask who might be excluded by a design decision at the same time as we ask whether it’s fun.
  • Build flexibility into controls, interfaces, feedback and difficulty from the start.
  • Keep challenge and depth, while removing barriers that add nothing to the experience.
  • Involve players with a range of access needs in testing, and listen to what they tell us.
  • Describe our accessibility work accurately, without overstating what we’ve achieved.

We’re an early-stage studio, and this mission is a long-term commitment. It’s the standard we’ll hold ourselves to as we grow.
